National Television Program to Feature America's Music from Little House on the Prairie Project
NASHVILLE, TN - Pa's Fiddle Recordings and the music from the Little House on the Prairie CD series including Happy Land: Musical Tributes to Laura Ingalls Wilder and Arkansas Traveler: Music from Little House on the Prairie, will be featured on Saturday, October 27th on the b In Tune music program on over 200 stations nationwide as well as in 17 million homes on Direct TV.
b In Tune is an exciting new show for and about kids and their music. Hosted from the InTune Studio on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA, b in Tune TV plugs its viewers into the very heart of the music scene with exciting and compelling stories that relate to music making a difference. Sponsored by the In Tune Foundation, whose board of directors includes Dr. Michael Nobel of the Nobel Peace Prize family, encourages young people in the arts as well as in the development of their full potential.
With national time slots on ABC, CBS, NBC and Direct TV, b In Tune is reaching millions of children on regular basis and making a difference in their lives while providing music and education as it relates to them. Artists previously featured have ranged from jazz to pop to folk to legends. Some of those artists include Nickel Creek, Joss Stone, The African Childrens Choir, KT Tunstall, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Corinnie Bailey Rae, Wynton, Marsalis, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more.
This highly regarded Little House CD project features recordings of classic American music embedded in the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The CD is part of a larger program--The Pa's Fiddle Project--designed and produced by Dale Cockrell, Professor of Musicology at Vanderbilt University. Happy Land: Musical Tribute to Laura Ingalls Wilder was the project's first release and Arkansas Traveler: Music from Little House on the Prairie is the newest addition to the series, having released in 2006.
Happy Land: Musical Tribute to Laura Ingalls Wilder was also awarded a coveted spot on the WE THE PEOPLE BOOKSHELF by the National Endowment for the Humanities earlier this year and was distributed to over 2,000 libraries nationwide.
A sheet music companion of the 17 songs from the Happy Land CD is available at http://www.pasfiddle.com and includes guitar chord symbols and piano accompaniment where appropriate. A short narrative explains the historical background of each song and references where it appears in Laura Ingalls Wilder's books.
