GoodStuff PR Co. Launches as New Publicity Firm

(Franklin, TN) - Longtime Nashville music publicist Shari Lacy has launched the new public relations company GoodStuff PR Co. out of Franklin, TN. Lacy, formerly Marketing/PR Director for the International Bluegrass Music Association and Director of Publicity for the Nashville based roots/acoustic record label Compass Records, will continue to promote roots, bluegrass, Americana and acoustic based music, in addition to specialty projects for small businesses. Current GoodStuff PR clients include 5-time IBMA Vocal Group of the Year recipient, Grammy and Dove Award nominee and bluegrass legend Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, mandolin great David Grisman's Acoustic Disc Records, Bluegrass Radio Network (largest bluegrass syndicated show in the country), renowned roots label Sugar Hill Records and Bell Buckle Records recording artists Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike. GoodsStuff PR is currently seeking additional clients for its roster.

"I'm very excited about GoodStuff PR and stepping out on my own," says Lacy. "I've been doing this for a long time and I truly care about and love the kind of music and artists that I've been fortunate to work with. I feel I can bring a lot to each client to help them meet their goals."

Lacy brings over a decade of public relations and marketing experience to the new venture, having worked comprehensive campaigns for such artists as multiple Grammy winning artists Jeff Coffin and Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck & The Flecktones), banjo great Alison Brown, Colorado jamband favorites Leftover Salmon and many more, in addition to overseeing all media, marketing and public relations aspects of the 25,000-attendee World of Bluegrass events. Lacy actively promoted the IBMA's conference's relocation from Louisville, KY to Nashville, TN in 2005 in addition to coordinating the annual International Bluegrass Music Association nominee press conference held each August.

In the sometimes challenging world of independent PR promotion, Lacy has garnered coverage for a variety of clients in such media outlets as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, National Public Radio, Billboard Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America and more.

GoodStuff PR Co. will continue to specialize in music PR, in addition to working with select non-profit organizations such as the Franklin Heritage Foundation of Franklin, TN. GoodStuff PR offers numerous services including tour press, national album promotion, bio writing, press release writing, email marketing and promotion, newsletter creation and more.

In addition to her work as a publicist, Lacy is a writer with published pieces in Reader's Digest, The Miamian and The Westhaven Register. She also writes a monthly column for Bluegrass Now Magazine.

A graduate of Miami University/Oxford, OH, Lacy started her PR career in the mountains of Alaska in the marketing and public relations department of the Alaska State Fair.
