*** NASHVILLE, TN - Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen has emerged as one of the hottest bands of 2010. They are currently nominated for 5 awards at the upcoming 25th Annual Washington Area Music Awards including Bluegrass Duo/Group of the Year (FS&DK) and Bluegrass Vocalist of the Year (Frank Solivan). They've been asked to perform at the awards show on February 20th, held at the historic State Theater in Falls Church, Virginia. The band is also up for Bluegrass Recording of the Year for their self-titled debut album and both Frank Solivan and Mike Munford are on the ballot in the Bluegrass Instrumentalist category.

Prior to the WAMMIES, the band will head to Memphis, TN to perform an official showcase at the 2011 Folk Alliance International Conference on Feb. 16th and 17th and then on to Framingham, MA for the popular Joe Val Festival. Bassist Stefan Custodi is now endorsing Upton Basses and is expected to receive his brand new bass while at the Joe Val Festival. It was made with some of his specifications in mind. In celebration of the love coming their way and in light of Valentines Day, FS&DK will give away 4 songs in 4 days that relate to love in one way or another. Go to their website from Feb. 11th-14th for free downloads. Their newsmaking year in 2010 earned them spots in the Top 30 of the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass Survey. They also held at #1 for two weeks on the Roots Music Chart and continue to hold steady chart positions in the Top 10 thus far in 2011. Other notable chart movement includes their #15 slot on WNCW's Top 50 Bluegrass CD's of 2010, KDHX Radio's Bluegrass Breakdown Top 10 of 2010, KBCS (Bellevue, WA) Programmers Best of 2010, #11 on Music Director/WNCW Morning Host Martin Anderson's Best of 2010 List. The CD is currently receiving airplay on the nationally syndicated radio show, Altville with Buzz Brainard. The band will be featured in mid-February in an issue of the BluegrassSpecial.com. This is following a stellar review in Vintage Guitar Magazine that said, "Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen combine the energy of a hardcore traditional band with a more modern and contemporary folk-influenced sound." Mainstream media outlets agreed and CMT.com named the album to their "Top Ten Indie Albums to Listen To" list. The band was also featured on Sirius/XM's Bluegrass Junction with Kyle Cantrell, who called the album, "flat out awesome!" The band is booked for several regional tours in 2011 with appearances at multiple festivals such as Oak Hill, NY's famous Grey Fox Festival, the Anchorage Folk Festival 2012 and the 10th Anniversary Celebration of WAMU's Bluegrass Country. They are also scheduled to appear on popular live radio broadcasts, Music City Roots, Live From The Loveless Cafe, The Billy Block Show (radio and television taping) and Red Barn Radio in April with more opportunities being added daily.
